about

Out of the universe and into the microcosm, there exists a destructive cycle. One element overcoming another, while at the same time being destroyed, and within this ever continuing cycle, giving birth to creation.

Wood parts Earth - Earth dams Water - Water extinguishes Fire - Fire melts Metal - Metal chops Wood

Within this cycle, all will be destroyed, so that creation may blossom. It cannot be broken, for its existence is the breaking of all things. This is the way.

"BlackQueen is an auditory exorcism striving to harness both the abstract and concrete notions of nature and expressing them through physical means, as a tangible craft to achieve planes of existence ulterior to man. Much like the unforgiving atmospheres transcending the boundaries of flesh and machinery, the themes shift from the greatest cosmic cycles to the most minuscule internal cell movement and back again, mirroring the ancient practices of Taoism and Wu Xing. If you wish to embark upon a voyage into your deepest self and essence, The Destructive Cycle is the soundtrack for the trek." - www.romannumeralrecords.com

"There’s no need to play straight-up metal when you can have so much more fun creating a style which takes your listeners apart organ by organ and cell by cell. Musically, Black Queen borrow liberally from Vektor and Obliveon, latter Death and Morbid Angel and classic black metal and then add a quart of sulphuric acid to make sure that no-one will ever find the mangled corpses." - Martijn Welzen (Mass Movement)

"Long story short, blackQueen won’t give you many breaks; their music twists and turns as it unleashes its fury on you and it does so often and with undeniable grace. It’s still intensely heavy but also intricate and varied. My advice is to listen to this album through a few times before you make up your mind; there’s a lot on it to digest." - Eden Kupermintz (Heavy Blog is Heavy)
